Test the survey

As a final step before sending or scheduling a survey, you may test it to ensure everything is correct and working as planned.

As the person setting up the survey, you always have access to an overview, an editing mode, and a preview of what you’re building. However, before the survey is sent out to the organisation, we recommend doing a full test — preferably with a few extra sets of eyes from selected colleagues — before going live.

What are the test users testing?

  • That the email communication, questions, and texts are correctly and clearly worded in all languages

  • That all intended questions are included and nothing has been missed

  • That the survey functions as expected from various angles, such as logic and flows

How to do it

Once you’ve set up your survey with questions, communication, and respondents, you're ready to test it. In step 5 — the final step of setup — a summary page is shown. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find the option “Test the survey.”

Note! Test participants must already be included in the respondent list prior to this step. You add respondents in step 2 of the survey setup.

  • Click “Add test users” and search for relevant respondents.

    • Using multiple languages? Try to include testers fluent in each language to ensure questions and phrasing are accurate.

  • Once test respondents are added, change the email adress for the respondents to the person supposed to test the survey.

    • You can do this by selecting the pen icon next to the respondents email adress, and input the target email adress.

  • Click "Send preview"
  • Save the survey and wait for feedback before clicking "Send" or "Schedule".

Note! Test links are automatically deactivated once you send or schedule your survey.

What is tested in test surveys will not affect the live survey in any way.
