Benchmark
Benchmark is available for all of Brilliant’s standard questions and indexes, providing organisations with an external point of reference.
The purpose of a benchmark is to give organisations a reference point to put their own results into context. A benchmark makes it easier to interpret results, prioritise the right actions, and drive development with perspective. Benchmarks help you to:
-
Understand what is considered a good result – is our eNPS high or low compared to others?
-
Identify strengths and areas for improvement – what are we doing better than others, and where are we falling behind?
-
Set realistic goals – by knowing what others and/or similar organisations achieve.
-
Support communication – both internally (to managers and teams) and externally (e.g. in employer branding).
Benchmark Criteria in Brilliant’s Database
-
Based on surveys from the past three years
-
Requires at least 50 responses from an organisation to be included
-
All organisations are weighted equally in the calculation, regardless of size (to ensure that no single organisation has too much influence on the benchmark).

What does benchmark mean?
A benchmark is a comparison point or reference value. It shows what is common or considered good within a certain industry or group and is used to assess whether your result is above, below, or in line with others.
