Who should participate in my survey(s)?
At its core, it's about ensuring that participants have had enough time to form an opinion and a basis for their responses — and that the same individuals who take the survey are also involved in the follow-up of the results.
Who is included (and not) may vary between organisations — the most important thing is to establish a framework that suits your organisation and to apply it consistently over time.
Brilliant’s general recommendations:
-
Employees who have been with the company for at least one month should be given the opportunity to participate.
-
Employees who have recently changed teams/managers should respond based on their new team/manager.
-
Employees on long-term sick leave, parental leave, or study leave should be excluded from the survey.
-
Employees who are leaving the organization during the survey period should be excluded.
-
Consultants with a fixed-term assignment of less than 6 months should also be excluded.
