Segment
Do you want to measure your entire customer base, or just a specific part of it? Perhaps you want to run a survey for participants from a specific recent webinar? In cases like these, segments can be a great way to manage survey selection.
It is always valuable to be able to tag respondents with attributes, such as background variables for "Country" or "Region" etc. (you can read more about this here: 📌Background variables & interesting perspectives ). However, these possibilities can become limiting if the number of purposes to measure increases; this is where segments come in!
With segments, you can create different types of groupings/customer sections/recipient lists for all possible types of purposes. You are able to choose selections for specific segments with detailed settings, and update these continuously.
Notera att beroende på vad för abonnemang ni som kund har, så kan antalet tillgängliga segment vara begränsade. Kontakta gärna vårt team Customer Care om du söker mer information om detta: 📌 Customer Care - Support
🏗️ Administration of segments
In the platform you will find the segment under "People" in the left side menu. Here you can both create new and manage existing segments.
If you select Create segment, there are two options:
- Upload file - Here, an Excel file can be used to upload respondents, from a simplified import function. Mandatory content in the import file itself is only the email address for each respondent.
- Rulebased - If you have existing respondents in your structure, you can use logic to create the selection that will be included in a segment. Here you can include all respondents who, for example, have a specific country linked to them via attributes.
It is also possible to manage and use segments in the same way as described above when creating new surveys, when administering the selection of the survey.
☝️ Keep in mind
Keeping track of and administering all segments that are created is essential for structure, agility and efficiency in the platform; not least also for getting the most out of the results from completed surveys.
- A simple first tip is to name each segment in a clear way!
- Clearly naming the surveys that are held for segment groups is optimal to keep track of which measurement is which, if you use one and the same segment repeatedly.
Be careful with segments you want to save; never delete a segment without making sure it is not linked to results you want to continue to have access to!
